Prayer in the Night was one of four finalists from IVP for the Christian Book Award program. Presented annually since 1978, the Christian Book Award program honors the “best of the year” in Christian literature. The winners were selected from sixty-five finalists to reflect literary excellence in twelve categories. Written prior to the pandemic, it has been a comfort to many during this challenging and sorrowful season. “This beautifully written book explores suffering, human vulnerability, and our experience of God. “Sometimes a manuscript is delivered at just the right cultural moment, and this was true with Prayer in the Night,” said Cindy Bunch, IVP Vice President, Editorial.

InterVarsity Press (IVP) is pleased to announce that Prayer in the Night: For Those Who Work or Watch or Weep by Tish Harrison Warren was named the Christian Book of the Year by the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) at its awards ceremony in Philadelphia on May 3.
